About Us

Troop 624 has been a valued part of the Essex Junction community since the 1940's. The First Congregational Church (FCC) of Essex Junction has been our charted organization from the very beginning.

The Boy Scouts of America and Troop 624, welcome youth to it's membership beginning at age 11 and upon completion of the 5th grade. Youth may continue in the program as scouts until their 18th birthday. Many scouts attend local schools, such as Albert D. Lawton (ADL) and Essex High School. We also welcome scouts from the surrounding communities and youth who have been home schooled.

The Troop maintains between 20 - 30 active youth members and holds weeklyTroop meetings at the First Congregational Church hall on Wednesday evenings.

There are several events to watch for, including our annual Pumpkin Sale on the FCC lawn in October, Spring and Fall Camporees and of course Summer Camp and other fun outings opportunities, where the scouts develop survival, life and leadership skills.

Scouts help the communities in numerous ways, whether it's through an Eagle service project, helping with clean up and green up day events or supporting one of our favorite places; Essex India Brook Reservoir. If you have a service project idea or need help, why not contact the scouts.
